The golden egret

I had always dreamed of capturing birds bathed in golden bokeh against a sunrise—but luck hadn’t been on my side. After the prime migratory season ended and summer began to settle in, the dwindling water levels finally gave me the chance to fulfill that long-standing desire.
One early morning, I positioned myself facing the rising sun, hoping to catch the perfect bokeh. I set up my camera on a mini tripod and, taking a bit of a risk, slowly slid it into the shallow waters while lying prone—searching for the right angle and the richest bokeh. My heart raced as I watched the equipment hover just a few centimetres above the water’s surface.
Just then, a little egret stepped into the frame for its early breakfast. My fingers were poised, ready to seize the moment—and finally, I captured the shot I had been chasing for so long.
