While hiking through the Pine forests of Lamahatta in search of a hidden lake I chanced across this beautiful formation of Ferns which provided a great foreground for the dense mist covered forest. Standing on the wet, slippery and leech infested forest while framing the shot was quite an experience.

Orangutans, the gentle giants of Southeast Asia’s rainforests, embody profound beauty in both appearance and character. Draped in reddish-brown fur, they blend with their tropical habitat, their expressive eyes reflecting wisdom and introspection. These remarkable apes, known for their solitary nature, navigate treetops gracefully, showcasing a serene existence, and are known for their uncanny resemblance to humans, sharing approximately 97% of their DNA with us. Beyond their charm, orangutans are crucial seed dispersers, maintaining rainforest health. However, habitat loss and poaching threaten them. Preserving orangutans requires protecting their habitats, combating illegal activities, raising conservation awareness, ensuring their survival, and honoring life's interconnectedness.

Captured this extraordinary moment The God Emerging from the Fire from the festival 'Kandanar Kelan Theyyam' . It is a tribal god worshipped in the northern parts of Kerala, India. The ritualistic performance happens once every year at a small temple and people from nearby villages come to seek blessings from their god. 'Kandanar Kelan' includes a fire dance, mime, drum beats and also a ritualistic jumping through fire. the idea is to preserve the essentials of ancient tribal cultures which are attached with significance to the worship of heroes and the spirits of ancestors.

While visiting Darjeeling, I have seen this old man seated with this Peacock feather and also I have noticed wrinkles on his face was like a fine old wine. So, I have asked him for capture his photograph and he smiled and agreed.

Kolkata has many ghats where people come to visit for daily activities. This photograph depicts the activities in one of the ghats during a stormy weather.

Drying of paddy is really a difficult work. Specially to search the perfect location where all the paddies can be dried together. These paddy field workers were drying the paddies inside the big courtyard of a Heritage house.
